Istighfar: The Key to Opening the Door of Rizqi

por Hye Grimley (2024-04-21)

In Islam, the concept of rizqi (رزق) encompasses all forms of sustenance, both material and spiritual. It is not limited to wealth or money, but also includes blessings such as health, knowledge, and happiness. Muslims believe that Allah (SWT) is the ultimate Provider and that He is the source of all rizqi.

One of the most powerful ways to increase and open the door of rizqi is through the act of istighfar (استغفار), which means "seeking forgiveness" from Allah (SWT). Istighfar is a form of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) that involves repeatedly saying the phrase "Astaghfirullah" (أستغفر الله), which means "I seek forgiveness from Allah."

25-nabi-dan-rasul.jpgThe Quran and the Hadith contain numerous verses and sayings that emphasize the importance of istighfar and its connection to rizqi. For example, in Surah Hud (11:52), live sholawat hari ini Allah (SWT) says:

"And seek forgiveness of your Lord, then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Most Merciful, the Most Loving."

In another verse, Allah (SWT) says:

"And if you ask forgiveness of Allah, He will forgive you. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Surah An-Nisaa' 4:110)

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also spoke extensively about the benefits of istighfar. In one Hadith, he said:

"Whoever constantly seeks forgiveness from Allah, Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress, relief from every anxiety, and will provide for him from where he does not expect." (Sunan At-Tirmidhi)

In another Hadith, the Prophet (SAW) said:

"The one who makes istighfar abundantly, Allah will replace his worries with ease, his sadness with joy, and will provide for him from where he does not expect." (Musnad Ahmad)

These and other verses and hadiths clearly demonstrate the importance of istighfar in opening the door of rizqi. When we sincerely seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT), we are essentially acknowledging our shortcomings and weaknesses, and we are expressing our trust in His mercy and forgiveness. In return, Allah (SWT) showers us with His blessings, including increased rizqi.

How to Make Istighfar

There are many ways to make istighfar. It can be said silently or aloud, and it can be done at any time. However, there are some specific times when it is particularly beneficial to make istighfar, such as:

After making wudu (ablution)
Between the adhan and the iqamah
In the last third of the night
On the day of Arafah
On the day of Jumu'ah
It is also recommended to make istighfar after committing a sin. When we make istighfar with sincerity and regret, Allah (SWT) forgives our sins and opens the door of His mercy and blessings.

The Benefits of Istighfar

In addition to opening the door of rizqi, istighfar has many other benefits, both spiritual and material. These include:

Forgiveness of sins
Peace of mind and heart
Removal of worries and stress
Increased happiness and contentment
Protection from evil
Success in this world and the Hereafter
Conclusion

Istighfar is a powerful dua that can bring us countless benefits, both in this world and the Hereafter. It is a key to opening the door of rizqi, and it is a means of attaining Allah's (SWT) forgiveness and mercy. Therefore, we should make istighfar a regular part of our lives and strive to increase it as much as possible.
