Furniture giant MillerKnoll reportedly threatened to fire workers for speaking out about a viral video where CEO Andi Owen scolded staff for asking about bonuses. Owen was caught on camera telling employees via Zoom to 'leave pity city' and stop 'thinking about what you're going to do if you don't get a bonus' - despite receiving over $1 million on top of her inflated salary last year. Workers at the furniture company have since claimed they were threatened with termination for speaking to the media about the controversial comments widely circulated online. An anonymous employee told they were told 'it wouldn't be good for them and they could be terminated' if they discussed the video publicly. A spokesperson for the company has disputed the claim. Owen, who has since apologized for her 'insensitive' remarks, took the helm of the Michigan-based company in 2018, and pocketed just shy of $5 million in 2022 - including a $1.2 million bonus. |
